How to improve conversion in your travel agency

10 MIN READ25 JULY 2026BY THE PROPOSAL.TRAVEL TEAM

Most agencies don't have a lead generation problem, they have a conversion problem: inquiries come in, but they go cold along the way. The good news is that conversion can be designed. These are the levers with the most impact —ranked by effort/return.

1. Reduce friction all the way to the yes

Every extra step between interest and booking loses clients. If accepting your proposal means "reply to the email, wait for details, make a bank transfer…", you're losing closes to fatigue. Shorten the path: a clear proposal and a button to accept or book in the same place.

2. Raise the level of your proposal

The proposal is your silent salesperson. An immersive web proposal, with your branding and well structured, converts far better than a flat PDF. It's not just perception: the client understands and desires faster.

3. Follow up at the exact right moment

Following up isn't nagging, it's showing up when the client is thinking about the trip. If you know when they open your proposal, you know when to write with something useful. That timing multiplies replies compared to a blind "so, what do you think?"

«It's not about chasing more, it's about showing up at the right moment.»

4. Offer options and make the decision easy

A single quote invites "let me think about it." Two or three tiers give the client something to decide (which one, not whether) and raise the average ticket. Less paralysis, more closing.

5. Build trust before price

Testimonials, your face as an advisor, transparency about what's included… everything that reduces perceived risk raises conversion. In high-value travel, trust weighs more than a few euros of difference.

6. Centralize everything in a CRM

Opportunities get lost in the inbox. A CRM with the status of each proposal (sent, viewed, accepted) keeps them from going cold and tells you where to put your focus each day.

7. Measure to improve

You can't improve what you don't measure. How many proposals you send, how many are opened, how many close. With those three numbers you already know where your leak is: in lead generation, in the proposal or in the follow-up.

In short

Improving conversion is stacking small gains in friction, proposal, timing and trust —and measuring. proposal.travel is built for exactly that: web proposals that convert, alerts for when the client opens them, one-click acceptance and a CRM that keeps any opportunity from going cold.
